# Code of conduct

instadroid is a small project, and this is meant to keep it a place where anyone can report a bug,
ask a question or send a change without having to brace themselves first.

## What's expected

- Be respectful and assume good faith, including toward people who are new to Android, redroid or
  Python.
- Give and take technical criticism about the work, not the person.
- Be patient: this is maintained on a best-effort basis.
- Respect privacy. This project handles logged-in accounts and other people's posts. Never share
someone else's credentials, session data, screenshots or scraped content in issues, pull requests
or fixtures without their consent, and strip personal data from any logs or dumps you post.

## What isn't acceptable

- Harassment, insults, slurs, or unwelcome sexual attention or imagery.
- Discrimination or demeaning remarks about anyone's identity or background.
- Personal or political attacks, trolling, or deliberately derailing discussions.
- Publishing anyone's private information (addresses, accounts, photos) without explicit permission.
- Using the project's spaces to coordinate harassment of, or unwanted surveillance of, a particular
person, including through the accounts this tool scrapes.
- Continuing any of the above after being asked to stop.

## Scope

This applies in every project space (issues, pull requests, discussions, commit messages, the
security advisory tracker) and when someone represents the project elsewhere.

## Reporting

Report a conduct problem privately to the maintainer,
[@ivylikethevine](https://github.com/ivylikethevine), at
[ivylikethevine@gmail.com](mailto:ivylikethevine@gmail.com). Reports are reviewed promptly and
fairly, and handled confidentially: the privacy and security of the person reporting are respected.
For a security vulnerability, use the private process in [SECURITY.md](SECURITY.md) instead.

## Enforcement

The maintainer is responsible for clarifying and enforcing these standards, and will take fair
corrective action in response to any behavior deemed inappropriate, threatening, offensive or
harmful. That includes removing, editing or rejecting comments, commits, code, issues and other
contributions that don't align with this code of conduct, with the reasons given when appropriate.

## Enforcement guidelines

The maintainer follows these community impact guidelines in deciding the consequences of any action
that breaks this code of conduct.

### 1. Correction

_Community impact_: Use of inappropriate language or other behavior deemed unprofessional or
unwelcome in the community.

_Consequence_: A private, written warning, providing clarity around the nature of the violation and
an explanation of why the behavior was inappropriate. A public apology may be requested.

### 2. Warning

_Community impact_: A violation through a single incident or series of actions.

_Consequence_: A warning with consequences for continued behavior. No interaction with the people
involved, including unsolicited interaction with those enforcing the code of conduct, for a
specified period of time. This includes avoiding interactions in community spaces as well as
external channels like social media. Violating these terms may lead to a temporary or permanent ban.

### 3. Temporary ban

_Community impact_: A serious violation of community standards, including sustained inappropriate
behavior.

_Consequence_: A temporary ban from any sort of interaction or public communication with the
community for a specified period of time. No public or private interaction with the people involved,
including unsolicited interaction with those enforcing the code of conduct, is allowed during this
period. Violating these terms may lead to a permanent ban.

### 4. Permanent ban

_Community impact_: Demonstrating a pattern of violation of community standards, including sustained
inappropriate behavior, harassment of an individual, or aggression toward or disparagement of
classes of individuals.

_Consequence_: A permanent ban from any sort of public interaction within the community.
